NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) NatHERS is used to assess the energy rating of new buildings and single and multi-dwelling residences across Australia. It provides a star rating out of ten for the energy efficiency based on your design and planning.NatHERS is managed by the Commonwealth Government on behalf of all Australian governments, with a Steering Committee of representatives from the Commonwealth Government and all state and territory governments.
Why is NatHERS needed for your build’s energy rating compliance?
NatHERS star ratings can be used by homeowners, builders, certifiers, councils and local, state and national governments for a number of purposes, including:To meet the mandatory energy efficiency requirements for homes and major renovations based on the National Construction Code.To advise home owners, architects and builders on the energy efficiency of various house designs.To advise prospective home buyers on the thermal performance of a home they are interested in buying.
Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) provides a framework that allows computer software tools to rate the potential efficiency of Australian homes.A Thermal Performance Assessment is undertaken by qualified assessors using this sophisticated and accredited 2nd Generation software (First Rate 5). We will calculate the heating and cooling loads for your new home and an overall rating. If your home does not meet the minimum annual energy allowance, we will advise you as to ways you could improve or maximise the thermal efficiency of your home along with the most cost efective estimates. We will always try and provide various economical options without impacting the overall design of your house.

We conduct NatHERS to: All residential projects (class 1, 2, 4 & 10a):Single dwellingsAttached dwellingsMultiple dwellings (eg. Unit blocks, apartments) We are accredited to produce and supply:Thermal Performance Assessments compliant with the BCA requirements. Also referred to as Home Energy Ratings (HERS).
What You Receive :Thermal Performance Assessment:NatHERS Energy Rating Certificate (which must be included with the DA)
Stamped set of assessed building plans.
